A Walk in the Park

My childhood friend had brain surgery a couple weeks ago.
I sent her this quilt titled
"A Walk In The Park"

A new study showed that people who remain friends
for seven years will be friends for a lifetime

I think they are right
I love you Cyn.
I'm so thankful you are well again!

Ode to Aquaman

Oh ya! I love Aquaman!
My friend the Super Geek thinks
Aquaman is the laughing stock
out of all the super heros.
I have loved him since I was a kid.
As an adult, the love continues
and I've never been into blondes!

How To Make Hexagon Templates

Plastic index dividers for your notebook work great.
Cheap and readily available.
If you have kids
you most likely have a stash
 of these bad boys
lurking in a closet

Make a Hexagon Pattern out of paper
or if you have a few
laying around from your last
paper piecing project
use those.

Grab a Sharpie

Trace Hexagon onto plastic

Punch a hole in the center of your plastic template
It makes removing so much easier.

My work mat is atrocious
 (hence "work mat")
and my $7.00
Amazon camera is about
to bite the dust.
But you get the idea of how to make hexagons
and that's really all that matters!

Memorial Day is tomorrow
Remember our fallen soldiers
Have a great day off!

Hand Embroidered Grocery Bag

 I love to hand embroider.
I found this great site that sells
Aunt Martha's products.

This is a new pattern pack called
Folksy Farm.
The colors remind me of a
farm house kitchen.

It even comes with a color guide.

This is the second time I have
ordered from this company.

The Orphan

This morning
on my way home from car pooling
 I found this orphan sitting
on the side of the road.

It looked so sad and dejected
I knew it must be saved

I sent my man on a mission
to bring that orphan home
and he did
I am happy to say
it has been
 cleaned and polished
and is ready for a new life

What a beauty!
